Abstract
Language pedagogy is being shifted towards tailoring individual’s learning needs with the help of Artificial Intelligence (AI). This concept paper investigates the potential role of AI in reshaping educational practices, particularly focusing on its application for personalized learning pathways in language education. It envisages the integration of AI into education as a transformative tool that might disrupt conventional pedagogy, bringing both opportunities and challenges. The paper emphasizes that effective AI integration requires the development of digital literacy, robust infrastructure, and teacher training. It also raises significant concerns over potential threats and ethical implications such as data bias. Through a comprehensive discourse, the present paper underscores the need for a balanced approach, leveraging the capabilities of AI while retaining the human touch and inclusivity, to establish an innovative educational system agile enough to adapt to the digital age. The ideas discussed here contribute to the ongoing discourse on AI's role in education, with critical insights for educators, policymakers, and AI developers.
